Timeline
Put dates on your list, and it shows where today falls
Guides and announcements are full of dates in a row: applications open, the deadline, the day results come out. Written as plain text, the list leaves every visitor comparing each date with today to work out where things stand. Write an ordinary ol list inside the mount point and give each item a data-date, and the widget turns it into a vertical timeline of dots and a line. Past items are muted, upcoming items stay clear, and a line with today's date sits between them. Today comes from the visitor's own device when the page runs, so a cached page never shows a stale day. An item with only a date is treated as a calendar date, so nobody abroad sees it a day early, and only items with a time are read in data-tz. The list stays in your page and the widget only changes how it looks, so search engines and screen readers read the same content the visitor sees. It is drawn vertically only, so it never runs off the side of a narrow screen. A JSON file (data-src) works too, but that list is built in the browser, so search engines that do not run scripts will not see it. Included in the BootSignal subscription ($20/mo or $200/yr, every widget on 1 domain, add more from the dashboard). Unlimited timelines while subscribed.
