Link Preview
See where a link goes before you leave
A reader clicks a link in the middle of an article and lands on a page they did not expect. This widget shows a small card first: the site, the page title, two or three lines of its description and the domain, with Close and Open buttons. On a wide screen the card sits next to the link; on a phone it rises from the bottom of the screen. Only a plain click on a link to another host inside the area you choose is caught. Clicks with Ctrl, Cmd, Shift or Alt, middle clicks, download links and links marked data-no-preview go through untouched, and a link already known to have no usable details opens as usual. The card holds text only, with no preview image or favicon, and the details come from a server that reads each page once and caches the result. The mount point draws nothing; data-scope sets the area whose links get previews. Included in the BootSignal subscription ($20/mo or $200/yr, every widget on 1 domain, add more from the dashboard). Unlimited pages while subscribed.
Demo
Every status code a server can return is defined in RFC 9110, and most accessibility audits check pages against WCAG 2.2.
A real widget. Click either link: a card opens first, and you leave through its Open button. The page title and description fill the card when the site is registered with an active subscription; until then the card shows the domain and the link text
Integration
The same loader (bootsignal.js) powers your other widgets too. An active subscription is required to run the widget. Add data-no-preview to a link to keep it out.
Pricing
Pricing is a single BootSignal subscription: $20/mo or $200/yr (2 months free). It unlocks every widget on 1 registered domain, and you can add more domains from the dashboard. Writing pages requires an active subscription; while subscribed, usage is unlimited with no per-use charges, and reading is always free for visitors. Manage the subscription at accounts.mrlatte.net.
