You write down the date you checked; the badge counts from there

Guides, price tables and compatibility lists are right on the day they are written. Half a year later something in them has drifted, and a reader has no way to tell how old the page is. Put the date of your last check on the mount point and the badge counts from it, reading "3 days ago" or "four months ago". How long a page stays current differs from page to page, so that window is an attribute too, and the moment it passes the badge changes its color and its wording together. Leave the window out and the badge reports the elapsed time without passing judgment. No date lives inside the widget. When you re-check the page you edit the one attribute and the badge follows, and the exact date also ships as a time tag for machines to read.
