Changelog
Updates you wrote, with an unread count that is never inflated
Shipping a feature is half the job; the other half is getting the people who already use your site to notice it. Write each update inside the mount point, one article with a date and a type (new, improved, fixed or notice), or point the widget at the RSS, Atom or JSON feed your site already publishes. Inline, it draws the list for a changelog page or a sidebar. As a button, it sits in your header and carries the number of dated entries this visitor has not seen yet. Opening the panel marks them read, and the entries keep their Unread mark until the panel closes. A first visit counts only the last 14 days, an entry without a date never counts, and the read state stays in the visitor's own browser. The widget writes and translates nothing: every title and every sentence is yours. Included in the BootSignal subscription ($20/mo or $200/yr, every widget on 1 domain, add more from the dashboard). Unlimited lists while subscribed.
Demo
A real widget. On top is the button you put in a header, below it the list for a changelog page. It acts as a first visit, so only entries from the last 14 days count as new. Opening the panel clears the number, and Back to a first visit wipes the read state this device keeps
Integration
The same loader (bootsignal.js) powers your other widgets too. An active subscription is required to run the widget.
Pricing
Pricing is a single BootSignal subscription: $20/mo or $200/yr (2 months free). It unlocks every widget on 1 registered domain, and you can add more domains from the dashboard. Writing lists requires an active subscription; while subscribed, usage is unlimited with no per-use charges, and reading is always free for visitors. Manage the subscription at accounts.mrlatte.net.
