Add to Calendar
Write the date once; the button carries it into your visitor's calendar
A date written on an event page still has to be retyped by every visitor who wants it in their own calendar: open the app, copy the title, get the time right. Put the title and the date on the mount point and one button appears. Google Calendar and Outlook open their event editor in a new tab with everything filled in, and Apple Calendar and other apps get an .ics file. The widget takes care of the parts that fail quietly. An all-day event has to end on the following day or the calendar drops the last day, a timed event has to carry its time zone or a visitor abroad sees the wrong hour, and an .ics file has to follow the rules for line endings, line length and special characters or Apple Calendar refuses it. Whether a date is the event itself or a deadline is never guessed: if it is a deadline, say so in the title you pass. A date that cannot be read, or an event that is already over, draws no button at all. If the page already carries Event structured data, data-from="jsonld" reads the values from there. Included in the BootSignal subscription ($20/mo or $200/yr, every widget on 1 domain, add more from the dashboard). Unlimited events while subscribed.
Demo
A real widget. The first button adds an evening concert with its start time, the second adds only the deadline day of a contest. Open either one: the top of the menu shows exactly what goes into the calendar. The demo dates are counted from today
Integration
The same loader (bootsignal.js) powers your other widgets too. An active subscription is required to run the widget.
Pricing
Pricing is a single BootSignal subscription: $20/mo or $200/yr (2 months free). It unlocks every widget on 1 registered domain, and you can add more domains from the dashboard. Writing events requires an active subscription; while subscribed, usage is unlimited with no per-use charges, and reading is always free for visitors. Manage the subscription at accounts.mrlatte.net.
